about
A recording made for fun. I think of it as Music-Restoration.
I’ve re-recorded a song written 40 years ago in 1982 titled ‘Allergies Unknown’ by a band I was in, ‘Insight’ who were active 1981-83.
I played and sang all parts on this new recording, sticking rigidly to the original demo-version that has up to now only existed on old cassette tape from 1982.
This an attempt to create a clean version of the original and to capture what a young Belfast indie-pop-band sounded like back in 1982. I sang vocals in place of Paul Wilson, the band’s singer is no longer with us. He died in 1996 aged 33.
The recording is for the members of Insight - Paul Wilson, Derek Dillon, Ian Mason and Ian Livingstone.
I ran towards the sun
and saw the flashing crowds
go by in unison formation
to this world
Well, you looked and then you saw me
smiling to the passing people
as I looked towards an era
that I searched for
What did I say to you?
yesterday yes I cried
upon your shirt
upon your shirt
Authoriatan, I can’t feel at home
Authoriatan, ‘cause it’s an allergy unknown
and I go through you like a crocodile
in search of a mirage into this world
and you dream and dream again…
Sometimes I run to you
and your arms around my shoulder as I cry
let’s go home now from this town
this evil comes around
and crossed my mind
my mind
Let’s run away from here
I know where we can hide
away from it.
Authoriatan, I can’t feel at home
Authoriatan, ‘cause it’s an allergy unknown
and I go through you like a crocodile
in search of a mirage into this world
and you dream and dream again…
If you’ve got a dream
you can participate in my world
don’t take things to heart, baby
just take it slow if you want my love
to flow into your soul
you can make out any way
above the stars
into American bars
dream again
dream again
can you dream into my world
can you listen to the words
that I heard just the day before
and you dream again…
Authoriatan, I can’t feel at home
Authoriatan, ‘cause it’s an allergy unknown
and I go through you like a crocodile
in search of a mirage into this world
into my world
into my world
Authoriatan, I can’t feel at home
Authoriatan, ‘cause it’s an allergy unknown
and I go through you like a crocodile
in search of a mirage into this world
and you dream and dream again…
